Partnership to Explore Integration of Early Childhood Learning Programs

by Kimberly Dreaddy

Jimmy Pratt Foundation

The Jimmy Pratt Foundation and the Margaret & Wallace McCain Family Foundation signed an agreement to partner with the provincial government to conduct a feasibility study on establishing integrated early childhood learning programs in our province. The partnership, first announced in May 2012, will include an examination of different early childhood learning programs in the province, and the identification of specific best practices that lead to a seamless transition to Kindergarten. Both foundations share a goal of improving ECE in our province and see this study as helping to inform future projects and directions. While integrated childcare settings have long existed in each of the other Atlantic provinces, this study will contextualize the approach to the needs of the families in this province.
