Feasibility Study into an ECE Bachelor’s Degree
Access to sufficient training and quality education for early child educators is central to improving services in our province. The Jimmy Pratt Foundation and the Margaret and Wallace McCain Family Foundation partnered with the University of New Brunswick to conduct a feasibility study into a B.Ed. degree in early childhood education that will be delivered through distance learning. UNB hopes the study will provide the foundational information in the creation of a pathway for students to complete existing early childhood education diploma/certificate programs at the college level. They would then transfer into a UNB program and complete their education while continuing to work in their communities. The study will explore opportunities to collaborate with colleges and universities in the Atlantic provinces, so as to ensure a comprehensive program that is accessible to practitioners.
